Riversmeet is a beautiful, reverse-level cottage located in the picturesque village of Instow in North Devon. The spacious dog friendly holiday home lies just across the road from Instow Beach making it one of the most desirable places to spend a vacation.
The coastal village of Instow sits alongside the Torridge Estuary and is one of North Devon’s most popular holiday destinations. The village boasts some of the best waterside views and its beach is perfect for families, as well as dog owners.
Not only does Instow have a sandy beach, it is also home to some of the region's best pubs and restaurants, including, the Instow Arms and The Boathouse, both of which are only a few steps away from Riversmeet. The village shop, John’s of Instow is also very handy, doubling up as both a deli and cafe. Further shops and restaurants can be found in the nearby town of Bideford and all supermarkets deliver to Instow.
For walkers and cyclists The Tarka Trail can be accessed at either end of the village. This largely, traffic free, tarmacked footpath and cycleway is perfect for families as the majority of the route is level. Head east and you will wind you way along the river back towards Barnstaple passing through the village of Fremington, in the opposite direction you will head towards the edge of Dartmoor.
Further afield, guests can discover the stunning, blue flag beach at Westward Ho!, which is popular for water sports, as well as patrolled by lifeguards throughout the main holiday season. Westward Ho! Beach is around a five mile drive from the cottage, with Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton less than 20 miles away. Smaller, less well-known beaches and coves can also be found locally.
Attractions available in the local area include Tapley Park, which is located just outside the village, The Big Sheep, The Milky Way and Skern Lodge. There are also many estates and villages of interest nearby such as Arlington Court, Hartland and Clovelly. For something a little different, set sail on the MS Oldenburg from Bideford and head off to Lundy Island in the Bristol Channel.
